The Sunset Bay Yacht Group is proud to announce that Executive Chef Natasha Harris won the coveted “People’s Choice Award” for favourite Chowder at the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown last night!
Competing against 11 other amazing Chefs from around Vancouver, including head chefs from the Four Seasons, Coast, O’Douls, Edible Canada and the Vancouver Aquarium among others- Chef Harris prevailed based on votes from the 550 attendees.
Attendees made their way around the Aquarium, sampling world class Ocean Wise recipes paired with the best local breweries. It was a fabulous event from start to finish, and the hours and hours of preparation certainly paid off!
Guests were blown away by our secret ingredient- Chef Harris’ Sunset Bay Alderwood Smoked Octopus Bacon- used as a garnish along with Applewood Smoked Cheddar. The Octopus was cured for 24 hours, smoked the morning of the competition, then sauteed to perfection!
